THIRD GRADE LETTERS

THIRD GRADE LETTERS

Dear President Obama,

My name is Wil Bruce I am in third grade at The Children's School in Atlanta, Georgia. The reason I am writing to you is because of the soldiers in Iraq.

My idea is that once every year when America is at war if you could talk with  Major League Baseball or the National Football League and see if every year the soldiers could come home from Iraq and just spend time with their families.  They could take their families to a baseball or a football game when the teams with the two best records play.  At the beginning all the soldiers could go on the field for the National Anthem.  It's always fun because they get to enjoy a good old fashioned baseball game.  The worst case scenario is that some might not enjoy baseball or football.

Here is the bottom line.  Everyone who is in the Marines, the Army, the Air Force or the Navy, risks their lives to make this country a better place.  They should get rewarded for that.

What I am doing to make this country a better place is to recycle  and trying my best in sports mainly football baseball and tennis,  in school and at home.

Sincerely,

Wil Bruce

Dear President Obama,

My name is Libby.  I'm nine and I'm in third grade.  I go to The Children's School.   I'm writing to you about heath care for both children and adults.

Even though some people may not believe what I believe, I think that if you have to get surgery or other medical care and you can't afford it, that you should get all of it for what you can afford to pay.

In school I am recycling and we are trying to turn off the lights every time we leave at home.  I am doing the same we are also trying to recycle we try not to use as much printing ink.

I understand you are vey busy.  Trust me, third grade isn't that easy.  Anyway I hope you have time to think about what I have said.  Enjoy your time in office.

                     SINCERELY YOURS,

                                  Libby Wilson

Dear President Obama,

My name is Jack Friedman, and I am a third grader at The Children's School.  I think that people should stop killing animals.  Some people think that animals were made to serve humans, but humans are animals too.  I think that if pets do something wrong, then people should just get mad and not put them to sleep.

This affects me, because I have a dog that bit my sister (it's a long story).  The nurse (again long story) said that we had to put my dog down.  We didn't put her down, because it was my sister's fault.

I would like you to make a law that says you can't kill animals just for fun, or just because they bite you.  The animals can't tell us to stop so they have to do something to let you know that they want you to stop.

Now I will tell you what I am doing to save the earth.  At my school I am being green.  We turn off the lights whenever we go outside.  We also have signs that say something like don't waste water, or turn off lights.

Sincerely,

As I mentioned before JACK FRIEDMAN

Dear President Obama,

My name is Anna Stone. I am in third grade at The Children School in Atlanta, Georgia. I am happy you are my president. I am writing to about the first things you should fix up. The first thing is the economy. My dad has to fire some people because of the economy. The economy is not the best right now. Please help every one.

The second thing is war I cannot bear all the people dying. Help us again. Too many people are dying. More peace, less war.

Our school is going GREEN!  I am saving electricity and water. But I can not help with the war. I know you can. If it were up to me I would work on the economy first.  But that is only my opinion.

Sincerely,

Anna Stone

P.S You are going to be a great president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Nikhil Ishan Jindia I am 9 years old .I am writing about the economy.  My dad had to fire 1,000 people from his work. If this goes on longer my dad might get fired. Then sooner or later I'll be poor. I would like you to convince people to make prices lower. My family [excluding me and my sister] are working extra hard to show we don't deserve to be fired. My sister and I are putting the least amount of stress as we can on our parents. If everyone does the same I believe our economy will get better.

                                            From,

                                      Nikhil Ishan Jindia

Dear President Obama,

My name is Carter Smith White. I was named after President Jimmy Carter. I want to talk to you about the Economy.

I want to talk to you about it because my stepfather is a car salesman & he is not selling a lot of cars & he had to fire some of his friends. I am worried he might get fired himself.

Maybe to fix it you could make more jobs for people who lost their job already.  You could give people more money so they could pay their bills & mortgages.  Or you could tell people to save as much as they can.

To make this world a better place I do a lot of things to help like always turning the lights off in my room and bathroom. Also I buy things with my own money. So please help the economy.

Thanking you in advance,

Carter Smith White

Dear President Obama,

My name is Alex.  I am from Atlanta, GA.  The issue that I'm writing about is about people who can't afford homes, food and education and

have to visit homeless shelters.

It is a bad thing that there are some people in the world that don't have homes and can't afford things like food, water and education.  There are probably some places in the world that don't have homeless shelters.

Maybe you can try to get builders to start building more homes for people who don't have homes and can't afford them.

I think that my family might be donating money to homeless shelters.  My mom, my dad and me were going to go on a hunger walk, but the afternoon we were going to go on it, it was snowing, so it got canceled.  We got some donations from some of my relatives.

                               Sincerely,

                                Alex

Dear President Obama,

My name is Isaiah Thomas. I am 9 years old.  I am concerned about burglaries.

The reason is because the Monday before New Years my house got robbed.

Will you put security guards in all neighborhoods?  Will you also put surveillance cameras on lampposts?  To prevent it from happening again I have an alarm.

To help be green I don't throw stuff like Gatorade bottles in the trash.  We recycle them.

Sincerely,

ISAIAH

Dear President Obama,

My name is Sam Newman I am 8 years old. I am from Atlanta Georgia. I think it is so cool that you are President.

I am writing to you because I want to talk to you about conserving energy.  Our earth is running out of energy. If we run out of energy we will have barely anything that still runs. And if that happens we will have no way of making food, heat, transportation, and many other things.

If we run out of energy then people will be frantically trying to find energy. If that happens many animals and their homes will be destroyed.

Our school is trying to conserve energy by turning off the lights when we leave the classroom. We also try to conserve water by not leaving the sink on.

                                   Sincerely, Sam

Dear President Obama,

My name is Max Semrau and I am a student at The Children School and I want to talk to you about animals and how they are getting treated.

Some baby animals are getting killed because they are too small and the farmers don't think that they will make good meat. Animals were here before us so really, why aren't they killing us?  Let me throw out that I am a vegetarian so this really matters to me and even though people think that its okay to just kill animals, it's really not because they're the ones that make no harm to the planet. And hunting is horrible!  Killing animals for fun!

So I think you could make a week where animals are not killed.  And I think you should not allow hunting for fun because animals love fun.  I think it's okay if you kill them for food if you are desperate - but just not for fun.

Here are some things I am doing to help our planet

1.    I am going green

2.    I don't eat meat

3.    I leave mother nature alone

4.    and lastly I treat animals well

Sincerely Max Semrau

Dear President Obama,

My name is Margaret Putnal and I am 8 years old and I am from Atlanta Georgia.

I am writing to you about saving energy because a lot of people do not save energy.

Energy is made out of the world and the world is our planet that we live on. So we need to start saving energy so we can stay alive and so that the world will stay alive also.

I would like you to make a speech about it so people will start to save energy.

At home I am turning off the lights and making sure all the doors are closed to keep the house warm instead of turning the heat up.

Sincerely,

Margaret

Dear President Obama,

My name is Ryan Costley.   I am 8   years   old. I am writing to you about   the Iraq war.  I believe that the soldiers in Iraq should be brought home responsibly because the more soldiers we have the more risk we have.

This affects me because I   never like to hear about death.  War is not fair. Whoever loses the war starts another one and it keeps going.  It affects my family because my aunt's brother is in the Army and he could be sent to war.

I am saving energy to stop global warming.  I am doing this by watching less TV.  I'M turning off lights   and   using   less energy  to make  our  earth  a better  place.

From,

Ryan
